The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost-effective manner. A Prehospital Care Coordinator (PCC) is a Registered Nurse designated to coordinate all prehospital activities sponsored by CHMC in compliance with the Paramedic Base Hospital Agreement and in accordance with the policies, procedures and protocols established by the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Agency.
Minimum of two years in Emergency Medicine or pre-hospital care within the last five years. Has recent work experience in a Los Angeles County Receiving Hospital Emergency Department for a period of at least six months. Has experience in and knowledge of base hospital radio operations and EMS Agency policies and procedures and the Paramedic Base Hospital Agreement. Familiarity with current computer applications (i.e. word, excel, & power point). Familiarity with LA BASE information system and a familiarity with the Trauma & Emergency Medicine Information Systems (TEMIS). Certified MICN in LA County with experience and knowledge of base hospital radio operations, EMS Agency policy and procedure and working knowledge of the Paramedic Base Hospital Agreement. Must be certified in, or willing to attend a EMS teaching methodology course. Demonstrates computer and computer peripheral equipment skills. Clinically competent in patient care delivery and skilled in use of medical supplies and equipment. Able to utilize telephone, fax and copier machines.
RN, BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, MICN and MOAB required.
